Rolex 168000 COMEX (Price POA)

This Rolex COMEX 168000 is an extremely rare and highly collectible variant of the transitional Rolex Submariner reference 168000. It was produced in collaboration with the French deep-sea diving company, COMEX (Compagnie Maritime d’Expertises). COMEX had a long-standing relationship with Rolex, using specialized Rolex watches for professional deep-sea diving operations.

COMEX divers were provided with customized Rolex watches for saturation diving and deep-sea expeditions. These watches were built to handle extreme underwater pressures and the harsh conditions of deep-sea environments.

The COMEX 168000 is one of the rarest COMEX watches because of its extremely short production run of only an estimated 9 month in 1987/88. Only around a 100 pieces were issued to COMEX divers, making it a true grail for Rolex collectors.

This particular and very unique piece is in immaculate condition and carries an amazing history.

COMEX-issued watches often have a case back engraving with a serial number matching COMEX’s internal records. This feature confirms the watch’s authenticity and history as a professional tool.

The COMEX 168000 shares the same 904L stainless steel as the standard 168000, making it the first COMEX model to use this upgraded steel.

It was produced for a very limited time in 1987, making it even rarer than other COMEX references.
